Covid, the media, and RFK jr

An Amish person was asked how much Covid impacted his community. He replied “It did not affect us much at all really. We don’t have TV.”

A famous philosopher once said that there are two ways to be deceived. One is to believe something that is not true. The other is to not believe something that is true. A term that has become very popular in recent years is “being red pilled”. That comes from the movie the Matrix, where Neo is offered a choice by Morpheus of taking the red pill and being shown the truth, or taking the blue pill and going back to a perhaps happier life of illusion without being burdened with unpleasant truths. Being red pilled has come to mean when a person realizes fully that something they have believed in, trusted, and even perhaps defended is not true, and that they have been lied to, propagandized, and deceived by people who foster agendas that could only be implemented if enough people believed in the lie. Another philosopher said that “those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities”. That was shown to be true during Covid, and especially with children.

I think most people are pretty aware that the mainstream media is not exactly objective and honest, and is usually trying to deceive and manipulate public perception to some degree. However during Covid, the normal level of this that we were accustomed to became something truly despicable and destructive. It became very apparent a few weeks into the pandemic that the prevailing Fauci/media narrative of “trust the science” was hollow and disingenuous, when it was clear that many doctors completely disagreed with the chosen public health policies that we all had to abide by. It is the shared opinion of many that most of what we did was not based in sound science at all, and was closer to being completely opposed to critical thinking and common sense. No calm, reasonable discussions of cost/benefit analysis took place, fear mongering and quashing discussion were the primary objectives.

There was a ton of very effective censorship that took place during Covid, but initially at least they could not censor everything, especially from media outlets in other countries that are not so beholden to corporate interests the way American media is. There was little else to do during this time but read about what was going on, and I recall reading early on in the pandemic about how doctors around the world were trying to treat people with Covid. I read about successes doctors had in India and Peru treating large groups of people using a repurposed drug called Ivermectin. It sounded very encouraging, and I even donated to an organization in July 2020 that was trying to share how well they believed Ivermectin worked, per the testimony of doctors who saw it save lives. These stories disappeared from news media, and instead were replaced with articles attempting to discredit or discourage use of the drug, saying that it not only did not work, but was unsafe. This seemed very odd to me, b/c one of the primary reasons doctors were so enthusiastic about it and thought it might be a game changer was that billions of doses had been given to humans, and it had an impeccable safety profile.

Normally I am not the kind of person who likes to get into politics. It is for the most part a really negative subject, and one conducive to conflict. But we are at a crossroads in this country, which is more divided than I have ever seen in my lifetime. Corruption has been a part of government throughout human history, so to expect none of that or have some utopian ideal is foolhardy. However it has gotten so out of control that it is impossible to ignore. Not only what its effects have been, but more importantly the trajectory of where things appear to be headed. I never thought I would live to see a day where censorship and first amendment rights would become a serious issue in the United States, but there have been so many violations of it since Covid started, including that of highly credentialed medical and scientific professionals who disagreed with prevailing narratives and who have been vindicated and proven completely correct, that it is impossible to ignore. Never in human history when people have been censored have those doing the censoring turned out to be the good guys. And it is crystal clear that during Covid, it was no exception. It was basically like “you’re the enemy if you question our version of events, or what we are telling everybody is necessary.” That’s not democracy, or a free society, it’s closer to Orwellian, and it is what we all experienced and lived through. We are at a point where we all need to recognize what is going on, expose what actually happened during Covid and some of the huge, massive lies that we were told, and by whom, hold people accountable, and above all else, stop listening to and stand up to the same people or entities who lied to us over, and over, and over.

Robert F Kennedy Jr is a very controversial figure. I mentioned him to a couple people recently, both of whom scoffed at his name with negative responses. That is not unexpected, many people have a completely disingenuous perspective of him b/c the media slanders anybody who is a threat to their ability to control and promote false narratives. There is a chasm of difference between what RFK Jr actually says, and what the mainstream media (MSM) says about him. The reason I like RFK, at least in comparison to other politicians, is simple. He seems very reasonable and honest, and calls out corruption rather than participates in it.

I don’t have kids, and from that standpoint can’t speak to what I would want for my children. But I am a kind and decent person with enough empathy for humanity that I feel that my values are aligned with those who are concerned about their children’s future, and what kind of world they will be living in. I would want people to be happy, healthy, safe, and prosperous to the greatest extent and in the greatest numbers possible. Right now this country is none of those things, b/c so many people are not healthy and are struggling financially.

I don’t have the kind of personality, confidence, or leadership skills to run for any kind of political office. But if I did, and wanted to change things for the better for the majority of people rather than serve the best interest of a corporate/political elite, I know that the media would characterize me as a crazy, anti vax conspiracy theorist for starters. Because that is exactly what the MSM says about RFK Jr, whose values and talking points resonate very much with what I believe. Like RFK Jr, I am neither anti vax, nor a crazy conspiracy theorist. I have spent more time listening to RFK Jr than any politician in my lifetime, and feel very much aligned with many if not most of his views and vision for creating true change. I encourage anybody who has come to this page and either has a negative impression of him, knows nothing about him, or thinks he cannot win to spend time listening to what this man has to say rather than taking mine or anybody else’s word for anything, esp that of a MSM that has sunk to the level of tabloid journalism. There are scientologists who are less brainwashed than people who listen to Fox news, CNN, or MSNBC.

For anybody who wants to take the time to listen to RFK jr and listen to what he actually says, to get a feel for his ideas, achievements, and character, I suggest watching at least the first 70 minutes of his appearance on Joe Rogan, as well as his interview with Dr Mark Hyman. It is very clear that RFK jr is very intelligent and knowledgeable about several aspects of the health problems in this country, is interested in funding research studies to understand and solve some of them, and understands the corruption and conflicts of interest that incentivize our regulatory agencies to ignore rather than solve these problems. It is also very clear that neither Trump nor Kamala, nor any candidate of the two major parties will do anything about such things, because they are beholden to corporate interests.

Veterans

Someone recently gave me a business card for a non-profit that they started to help support our veterans. I was impressed by this young man’s kind hearted intention, which is part of the reason I created this page.

Our troops and veterans are brave, patriotic, and have stood for courage, honor, and protection of our people and values. They deserve a government that is worthy of them. Their role should be to protect our country when necessary, not to be used by sociopathic war mongerers whose lack of conscience allows them to rationalize ghastly and immoral choices. Veterans who fought in WW2 were true heroes, b/c the US was on the right side of history, and they fought not only for our safety and freedoms but those of humanity. The Vietnam and Iraq wars were based on false pretenses, hidden agendas, and totally unjustified. We were told that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, and that there were ties to 9/11. Both of those given reasons were not only false, but were known to be when they were fed to the American public. Those that died or were traumatized in those wars never should have been put in harms way in the first place. They were used like chess pieces by the “military industrial complex” that Eisenhower warned about in his brilliant farewell address. Chalmers Johnson said “when war becomes profitable, we can certainly expect more of it.” The military’s proper function should be to protect us here at home, not get involved in conflicts that are not absolutely necessary, where American lives are lost and we add to our already catastrophic national debt, while defense contractors and those who hold stock in them enrich themselves. That is not to say that there are no instances where American military involvement are required, only that things like the Iraq war were a tragic symptom of a political oligarchy drunk on power. They would never send their own children to die for some misguided agenda, but have no problem sending the children of others, nor do they care about the people our soldiers would murder. Our veterans deserved and deserve better. The only way to prevent such wars in the future is to get people with a higher degree of integrity in power to start to reign in war hawks whose inhuman values are not aligned with the best interests of almost all of us. In addition to putting people in harms way via wars, the Biden administrations reckless irresponsibility w/r to the border is going to eventually put a greater number of our police officers in harms way fighting these gangs of prison convicts that other countries sent here.

This recent interview with Tulsi Gabbard, who served in Iraq, is telling:

There is room for differences of opinions between people. We all have our own unique view of the world and believe different things. However, the political elite obviously prefers a divided country to a united one (apart from during Covid, where they wanted united obedience to their agenda/will). Part of their agenda is to try to get people to align with polarized views on nuanced topics so that they side with one of the two corrupt political parties, so that people believe their enemy is “the other side”, rather than the whole government/media apparatus and those behind the scenes that are manipulating them. As Mark Twain said, if you don’t follow the news you are uninformed. But if you do follow the news, you are misinformed. The integrity or our media is now on the level of tabloid journalism. Differences of opinion are one thing, but there is so much deceit and corruption being perpetuated through a mainstream media apparatus that has evolved into a truly monstrous instrument of evil, that many disagreements are often about right/wrong, truth/falsehood, not mere differences of opinion. Massive mainstream media reform is the order of the day, among the many problems we face.
