Never in my lifetime has there been a more contentious election than the one that just happened on November 5, 2024. The result was surprising to many people, as well as upsetting to some. People seem so polarized that it can be extremely difficult to discuss without getting into heated arguments. I experienced this within my own family. The election is over, and there is nothing any of us can do about the result but make the best of it, and hope for the best for the country.
Imagine an alternate universe, where Biden was President from 2017 through 2020, and where Trump has been President the last 3 1/2 years. In this alternate universe, the state of things in this country is exactly the same as it is now. When Trump took office in 2021 during the middle of the pandemic, the Covid vaccines were on the cusp of being ready to be distributed. Trump, being the evil dictator that he promised to be on day 1, decides that every person is going to take these minimally tested vaccines, whether they like it or not. Fauci is completely on board with this. In fact, it is his own idea. Trump coordinates with Fauci and all the major media outlets to promote a very positive pro vaccine propaganda campaign, with a priority to make sure all dissent to this mandatory vaccination policy is silenced, and that any doctors questioning it, or the safety or effectiveness of the vaccines, be completely discredited and vilified. If anybody doesn’t want to take the vaccine, they lose their job, or are prevented from being able to engage in society like going into restaurants or gyms without a vaccine card. A few months into the rollout of these vaccines and policies, a small but noticeable number of people start having serious health issues with even some deaths from these vaccines. Trump and Fauci hear of this and double down, coordinating with media outlets along with Google, Twitter, youtube, and facebook to make sure that there is no “misinformation” which includes any mention of vaccine harm or vaccine inefficacy on any mainstream or social media platform. Especially from doctors. Trump wants celebrity/athletes like Travis Kelce to promote these vaccines, encouraging children and adults alike to be required to get them to attend school or college. He wants maximal media efforts to bully and shame people who were unwilling to comply, telling the American public in an address to the nation and while looking into the camera, in his classic Trump voice, “We are growing impatient with the unvaccinated”. It becomes apparent in the fall of 2021 that not only do the vaccines not prevent people from getting Covid, they do not stop the spread, and it is absurd to try to hide this. Trump does not want ANY kind of negative perception about the vaccines, so he insists that all media narratives say nothing other than reassuring people they are “safe and effective”. He coins the phrase “a pandemic of the unvaccinated” in an attempt to blame unvaccinated people for the ineffectiveness of the vaccines. He continues to promote demonization of doctors or anyone who call their safety into question. People start to become very aware of what’s going on, by watching alternative news media with doctors coming forward talking about significant numbers of people that were harmed by the vaccines, as well as their inability to stop infection or transmission. People bringing this to public attention are deplatformed and taken off social media, and continue to be the subject of nasty character attacks. People are privately in an uproar as to why no mainstream media outlet has the integrity or courage to cover this in a truthful way. It becomes clear that Trump and his MAGA party, along with big pharma, control the media to such an extent that no major media outlet reports on the harms or lack of efficacy of the vaccines, and this continues for most of the rest of his administration, even though eventually the majority of people wise up to most of it.
While the pandemic was still going, as soon as Trump got into office, the number of illegal immigrants crossing the border started to increase dramatically because of open border policies that Trump implemented. During 2021 the number of border crossings was more than 3 times that of the annual average during Biden’s term, and in both 2022 and 2023, the numbers exceeded 2.3 million, more than the total during Biden’s entire term. According to left wing “conspiracy theorists” who have been warning people about how radical Trump and the MAGA party are, they suspect that their reason for letting people into the country have to do with medium to long term election demographics. Speculation is that their plan is to allow millions of illegal immigrants to cross the border, and to give them money or promise them access to loans as they come into the country, ensuring that they will become a future part of the MAGA voting base. The cumulative border issue becomes such a disaster that it starts to gain more coverage in 2024, because not even Trump, MAGA, and the media can minimize the problem any longer. Border agents say publicly that the border is the worst it has ever been, orders of magnitude worse than under Biden. However Trump and the mainstream media attack Biden, for allegedly using political ties to interfere with a bill Trump tried to pass in late 2024 to address the problem he and “border czar” Pence neglected for 3 1/2 years. Fox News spins the story about Biden’s interference with Trump’s bill, and attempts to blame the border issue on Biden, and absolve Trump’s administration from responsibility for a 5 fold increase in illegal immigration during their administration compared to under Biden. People watching Fox News actually believe this.
Another part of this story is that not long into Trump’s administration it becomes apparent to many people that he is not well mentally. Trump and his MAGA people deny it, while Trump has many bizarre verbal gaffes caught on camera that look to the rest of the world like an American President in serious decline. News outlets from other countries have no problem reporting on this with honesty, and make fun of Trump and his decline mercilessly starting in mid 2022. It becomes crystal clear by 2023 that there is no way Trump is fit for office, or that he will be able to run for reelection. The MAGA group decides that they want to conceal Trump’s decline as long as possible, with a plan to avoid having any legitimate election primaries, and lie constantly through the media about his condition for the next 18 months even up until the summer of 2024. They attack people who merely are acknowledging the obvious truth, while VP Pence and his MAGA circle insist that Trump is just fine. Former Fox News mouthpiece Bill O’Reilly even says “F you if you can’t handle the truth. This version of TRUMP, intellectually, analytically, is the best Trump EVER,” which serves as fodder for endless comedy around the world. Trump becomes a national and global joke, as does the MAGA party. Finally in the summer of 2024, shortly after O’Reilly’s remark, Trump debates Biden, and loses his marbles in a way so graphic that it becomes not only obvious that he will not be the nominee, but that his own MAGA party set him up to fail on purpose. There is no way that people around him could not have known his condition, and not seen his meltdown coming. So in late summer of 2024, long after it was too late to have an actual primary, MAGA sycophant Mike Pence becomes the Republican nominee, in part due to rules about campaign money only being allowed to go to the Vice President in the event of a nominee replacement. Pence is literally the least intelligent or qualified person they could have picked from the entire Republican party, basically.
Meanwhile, RFK Jr has launched the most successful third party campaign since Ross Perot. He initially tries to run as a Republican, believing he would have been more popular than the declining Trump and his hated, authoritarian policies, but primaries are overtly suppressed, as the last thing the MAGA party wants is someone like RFK Jr running in their primaries. So RFK is forced to run as a 3rd party candidate. The MAGA party attacks him mercilessly in the media, and spends millions of dollars making sure he cannot run a fair campaign even as a third party candidate, keeping him off the ballot in key states, and ensuring that most of the money he raised from supporters is wasted fighting the MAGA party in court. Recognizing that the greatest threat to this country is the totalitarian MAGA party that has in the past 3 1/2 years implemented widespread censorship, vaccine mandates, disastrously irresponsible open border policies, coordinated with the media to try to hide Trump’s decline, and ensured that there were no primaries where RFK Jr or some other non-MAGA republican might have a shot at winning the nomination, or where the American people could actually vote for the nominee, RFK Jr decides to drop out of the race and support Joe Biden. People have concerns about Biden’s age, but during Biden’s term there were no new wars, and 1/4 the number of border crossings that there have been under Trump. So Biden has support from people like Joe Rogan, Dave Rubin, Bret Weinstein, and Elon Musk who simply don’t want censorship, an open border, vaccine mandates, or other invasive bullying or infringement upon democracy and civil liberties like the bully MAGA party demonstrated. And that is the end of the story of the alternate universe.

Now part of the point was that in that story, Trump’s actions and motives correspond perfectly to the image of Trump that the media promotes. In that story Trump is the clear villain, a dictator, a bully, a liar, a scheming tyrant. The actions and policies of Trump/MAGA in that story are perfectly aligned with what one would expect from an individual and party with disturbing authoritarian motives and no regard for civil liberties. It is not hard to imagine Trump playing that part, for those that believe that is his character. And yet, the story was that of what the Democratic party has actually done in office. The media hates Trump to such an extent that had he been in office and implemented those same actions and policies, they would have absolutely destroyed him – and justifiably so. All of it was so dishonorable and treacherous there are no words for. Meanwhile, the Biden administration, with the mainstream media as its ally did all of that with no accountability at all. Exposing the hypocrisy of the Democrats and how they are portrayed in the mainstream media compared to Trump was the whole point of the story. Perfectly articulated in the following 20 second clip:
I believe that Trump, even with his flaws, is better as a leader than the Democratic party has shown themselves to be as a group this past 3 1/2 years. I believe that the border issue by itself makes this clear. It is an undeniable fact that the border was enormously better under his administration. In both 2022 and 2023 there were more border crossings than in Trump’s entire administration. It is estimated that at least 10 million people crossed into this country illegally since Trump left office. That’s an average of 7000 people per day, every day, for 4 years. I am pro immigration, but not for a disorderly, unvetted, chaotic process that literally included people from prisons in South American countries that were emptied, with their criminals sent here. I want somebody to come up with a really good argument to justify how that is not recklessly irresponsible, if not treason. Tell me how that was aligned with the best interests of anybody in our country, from an economic or security standpoint. Kamala was border czar. Mainstream media has attempted to say that she is actually NOT border czar, implying she is not accountable for that disaster. Here is a clip on that:

Trump has his share of shortcomings too, but don’t tell me that a party that forced people to choose between getting a vaccine that has given some people serious heart problems, or being able to keep their job to support their family is a group of well meaning people who are in favor of freedom and personal liberties. No, they have shown they are are the opposite of that. Most people did not need these vaccines in the first place, they have done more harm than good for most people. I knew of 3 people by the summer of 2021 who were seriously harmed, one of whom was a young man under 30 who died the day after his 2nd shot. Since then I’ve heard of like 10, no deaths but heart related stuff, and a college aged woman who was forced to take the shot to attend school, and did not have a menstrual cycle for well over a year. That’s why 1200 doctors signed a petition trying to get them suspended. Mandates are not only wrong on every level, but completely irrational. But Kamala and the DNC insist that people working for her get them. People promoting these vaccines are more brainwashed than some people in Scientology. They can’t let go of this, even now? We do not need 4 more years of dangerously irrational people who are part of a Pfizer/pharma vaccine cult promoting this nonsense:
The mainstream media and their dishonesty are a huge part of many of the problems in this world. It is especially troubling to me that people continue to trust them, esp after what we all saw during Covid. They completely fail to recognize that this party has no resemblance to the party they have loyalty to based on their past ideas of it. If this was the Democratic party of old, like I’ve voted for in the past in every election I’ve voted, they would have had no censorship, no vaccine mandates, they would have had a secure border and not a disaster by design, they would have come clean about Biden 18 months ago, and had an actual primary where people could vote for someone who was not completely unqualified. I would have considered voting for them now if they had not done those things. But this is no longer the Democratic party. This party has through it’s actions, not future accusations, shown that it has no respect for free speech, democracy, civil rights, or our constitution. Integrity is about being responsible, honorable, and ethical. This party has lost it, as have the people supporting it who steadfastly refuse to see it for what it has become.
If censorship wins and we lose free speech, and authoritarian forces are given the power to decide what people are allowed to say, hear, and share across all social media platforms, they will be able to completely suppress the sharing of true information, and this country and the people in it will lose absolutely everything. Once people in a country lose free speech, they never get it back. The Democratic party is so far left that free speech is now almost considered right wing. There are all kinds of unprecedented efforts by governments in favor of censorship going on all over the world, esp in the UK and Brazil recently. Media owners being targeted as well as people who say things they don’t like. RFK Jr was censored without saying anything that was not factual. So, they could not call him out for “misinformation”. Instead, they coined the term “malinformation”, which is saying something that is actually true but that the government does not want people to hear. This sounds almost exactly like the “Ministry of Truth” straight out of Orwell’s 1984. I’ve been censored on youtube the past 2 years many, many times, posting completely reasonable opinions, or facts. That is a violation of my first amendment right. In the summer of 2021, I tried many times to post about people I had heard about who had been harmed by the vaccines, and was prevented from doing so. Peoples lives or health could have been spared if they knew, just like the Ivermectin story. If that does not disturb somebody, they have a serious ethics deficit, and no backbone, frankly. Free speech is literally the only way for truth to win over deceit. I’m an American, and as someone who was lucky enough to be born here, I’ve always been told that free speech is a right, not a privilege. No compromise, no negotiation. It isn’t the 4th, or the 10th amendment. It is the first, and the one that all the others depend on. These people want to bypass the constitution as it suits them. And they are doing so. Here is a recent headline, from one of the great propaganda outlets of our time, the NY Times. For those who fear Trump, how would you feel if there was a headline like this, and he was in office?
Robert F Kennedy Jr has the best message of any politician I’ve ever listened to. By a mile. And he has a very strong character to stand up to the biggest bullies in our world, time and again. Those bullies, which revealed themselves during Covid and are all institutionalized forms of corporate interests, are the ones causing all the problems in this world and are the true threats to our freedoms, not Donald Trump. I believe with zero doubt there is an enormously greater chance of RFK having an important and positive influence over Donald Trump than there is of anyone or anything having a positive influence over the Democratic party, and the corporate interests they are beholden to. They are lost, and hopeless. Robert F Kennedy Sr, one of the greatest political figures in our country’s history, would be proud of his son and his values, and ashamed of what the Democratic party has become, not the other way around.
